Chapter 2 covers Group IA to Group VIII elements, as well as the transition elements. Crystalline solids, crystal lattice energy, and coordination numbers are discussed as well. The coordination complexes formed between metals and ligands are covered.
Sections 2.14 General Classification of Chemical Reactions and 2.15 Activity Series of Metals have been moved to Chapter 1. They are now Sections 1.7 and 1.8 respectively.
