ABSTRACT

In laboratories where RNA interference, recombinant DNA, pathogens, other potentially infectious material, or transgenic animals are being studied, an Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is in place to ensure the protection of both the environment and human health. It is generally accepted that the IBC is responsible for the outcomes of any studies using recombination technologies or biohazards, and that it has the right to propose or send such experiments to the government.
