ABSTRACT

In India, the Insecticides Act of 1968, and the Insecticides Rules, 1971, are in force, and any claim relating to an insecticide is subject to regulation, regardless of the plants or chemicals involved. The Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee (CIB and RC) is the regulatory authority for insecticide approval. The necessary data, such as chemistry details, safety, efficacy, and packaging data, are required. The plant claiming insecticidal effects must be registered, and the chemical content must be registered with CIB and RC.
