ABSTRACT

To get the readers started using Blender, this chapter shows them how to interact with the interface. This introduction familiarises the readers with the Editors, demonstrates entering command using the controls and provides an insight into how the different Editors interrelate. Understanding the Interface and knowing what tools are available, which buttons to press and what to expect is the key to understanding Blender. The Blender Graphical User Interface is made up with four Panels called Editors and three Headers. In addition, each Editor Panel also has its own Header which is usually at the top of the Panel. Headers contain icons and text notations which are buttons for selecting or activating functions. Personal Workspaces and Themes are configured in a Blender file and saved on the computer for future use, therefore, knowing how to Navigate and Save files is essential.
