ABSTRACT

Considered Material as the color of an Object which is how the visible spectrum of light reflects from the Object's surface. A Material also defines whether the surface appears dull (matt) or shiny (metallic). How the surface of an Object displays is determined by three factors; Material, Texture and Lighting. The Blender Material Node System is a graphical representation of computer data or instruction which is arranged in a pipeline producing the display of color. The default Cube has a default Material pre-applied which displays as the gray color on its surface. The data for the default Material is stored in a Cache and named simply Material. Deleting the default Cube from the 3D Viewport Editor removes the Material Properties from the Properties Editor but the data for the default gray Material remains in the Cache. Assigning Material Properties by clicking the New Button when new Objects are added to the Scene generates new Material Datablocks in the Cache.
