ABSTRACT
Success of any decision support system depends on accuracy and richness of knowledge base used by decision support system. The knowledge to be used is generally available in different formats. To make it useful for DSS, it needs to be represented in a structured and consistent way. The knowledge base can be in the form of relational database, XML or any other format. This chapter describes how the knowledge base is generated in the form of ontology to be used by decision support systems described in subsequent chapters.
