ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with setting up an effective trending programme. Trending programmes allow organisations to collect and analyse data over a wide spectrum of several types of incidents. Investigation teams typically focus on the one specific incident they are analysing and the recommendations they can identify to prevent recurrence of the incident. Organisations, on the other hand, must identify systemic problems that contribute to incidents. Trending of incident data is the key to unlocking this information.
