ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a comprehensive study of the colour schemes adopted, fabrication process and the technological intervention in the walking sticks. Understanding the effects of colours on the physical eye and their emotional and subconscious impacts on the user gives an insight into the fact leading to choice of which colour would be ideal for a walking stick. The ideal choice of colours for the walking stick is chosen from neutral colours as they are not associated with any specific gender. Black and muted silver are silent colours and, hence, they can easily merge into the lifestyle of the user. The design thinking process also has a very important tool for analysis known as the journey map. Any design process is incomplete without taking the required feedback. The feedback for the prototypes developed is also taken by interviewing through a questionnaire. The participants were asked various questions, both qualitative and quantitative, to understand the impact of the prototypes created.
