Early in 1970, Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory (LASL) conducted a study to determine the efficiency of various types of Bureau of Mines (BM) approved particulate filters. 1 The purpose of this study was to develop quality control procedures for NIOSH to verify performance of approved particulate filters.
