ABSTRACT
The term filter is sometimes applied to any device used to remove contaminants from air, such as particles in the solid or liquid state, gases, and vapors. However, filter more often refers to a device that utilizes fibrous material to remove particles from air, and filtration usually refers to the process of removal and retention of airborne particulate matter by a fibrous medium.
