ABSTRACT

n-Propyl acetate is also a naturally occurring compound. If released to soil, n-propyl acetate will display very high mobility and it has the potential to leach into ground water. Rapid volatilization is expected to occur from both moist and dry soils. n-Propyl acetate may undergo atmospheric removal by wet deposition. The probable routes of exposure to n-propyl acetate are by inhalation and dermal contact during the production and use of this compound. n-Propyl acetate was identified as a component of Concord grape juice essence, and as a volatile flavor component of Beaufort cheese, intact, ripening bananas and Kogyoke apples. n-Propyl acetate was identified as a volatile component of the blended fruit of nectarines, and also in a headspace analysis of the intact fruit.
