ABSTRACT

Propyl ether may be released to the environment as a result of its manufacture and use as an industrial solvent and extractant. If propyl ether is released to soil, it will be subject to volatilization. Propyl ether may be released to the environment as a result of its manufacture and use. Propyl ether can be used for the same purposes as diethyl ether that has many uses including use as an industrial solvent and extractant. Based upon the Henry's Law constant and the vapor pressure, propyl ether will be subject to volatilization from surfaces and near-surface soil. The most probable route of general population exposure to propyl ether is via inhalation of contaminated air. Exposure through dermal contact may occur in occupational settings.
