ABSTRACT
The principal aim of antibody labelling of biological materials is to define the surface localization of antigenic epitopes on cellular structures and isolated components such as ribosomes and macromolecules. This approach has successfully been combined with negative staining for many years, as reviewed by Boisset and Lamy (1991), Harris (1996) and Lünsdorf and Tiedge (1992).
