ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses the transformational and tactical change approaches that an organization must follow. The major challenge for any organization is to sustain and maintain its operation and pursue a constant need for continuous improvement and innovation. The organization will strive to balance its strategic direction with its operational performance while addressing situations that require it to be reactive or proactive. Frequent reviews and reassessments of goals are to be conducted according to the volatility or stability of the organization’s operating environment. Reviews must be aligned to the timeframe utilized for the goal to act upon the evolving changes that occur in that period. The organization, in implementing and utilizing a Project Portfolio Management system, must have an open attitude and a culture of accepting change within a change to achieve organizational goals, by the adjustment of those initially set goals for the benefit of the organization.
