ABSTRACT

Business Realization Management is holistic and spans a timeframe from inception to finalization. This requires a structured approach to managing change and achieving Objectives. A stand-alone operational performance measurement process divorced from Business Realization Management is pointless. This chapter briefly reviews the challenges encountered by organizations. Business Benefits arise when investments enable the organization to perform more efficiently and effectively by introducing improvements to the ways it performs and/or making it operate in a new manner. Financial projections are of vital importance and must be finely calculated and illustrated to render acceptable and coherent the Business Case and the subsequent initiative that will be launched. The program team and the corresponding operational unit(s) will conduct a transition and go-live assessment and seek confirmation from key Stakeholders for the policy and governance to use for the achievement of benefits and goals. Performance is measured against pre-established criteria and decisions are made when and where deviations exist.
