ABSTRACT

Organizational Change Management will always involve Stakeholders, at the executive level for transformational changes seeking growth and opportunities and at the tactical functional level for changes to sustain operations and maintain a competitive advantage. Relationship management focuses on project Stakeholders, to manage their respective expectations by ensuring that communication lines exist and are open. Regular appropriate distribution of project information and updates on project status, progress, and decisions will leverage stakeholder allies’ support and alleviate the impact of project adversaries. When establishing stakeholder relationships, the Project Manager must be aware of and understand that Stakeholders are humans and have personal goals and political motivations. The PESTLE model is a structured tool widely used in the management sphere. The fluidity of communication lines between the Project Manager and the Stakeholders is key to understanding and maintaining expectations. The Project Manager’s responsibility is to deliver the project to expectations, and authority must be a formal and clear assignment from the sponsorship group.
