ABSTRACT

I have such fun with arms that I think we should highlight a few ways to do them. There are a few methods around—some old, some new. The wing of the bird in this case is given bones pretty much like an arm, so it will have a similar setup (ignoring the concept of the feathers for now). Also, to make things a little simpler, I have added in some very basic shapes for the wing, hid the original low poly version, and unparented all the feather joints and hid them too (chpt12_Marv_bird_RIG_v11.ma). It was literally making me nauseous to look at all of that stuff while working on the wing. We'll focus on the core functionality of the wing/arm, with no need for bicarbonate.
