ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a brief review regarding the degradation of images. It introduces the categories of degradation and demonstrates the challenges faced due to degradation when it comes to object detection in real-world scenarios. It also highlights the effects of different parameters during object detection due to degradation in computer vision. This chapter addresses the concept of degradation to represent the complexity of real-world problems for object detection, which should help the research community tackle this kind of problems in future.
