ABSTRACT

SAF producers – voluntarily or involuntarily – become dependent on their raw material suppliers. When demand is high and supply is low, the price rises. However, the price also rises if the SAF producer is dependent on the surrounding feedstock suppliers for the location of his production facility. In addition, crop yields and thus the supply volume and the supply price fluctuate, as farmers pass on the operating costs, which are usually fixed, to the crop volume. RFNBOs are Renewable Fuel of Non-Biological Origin. In this process, green electricity is used to generate hydrogen, which can then also be processed into an SAF. Each Feedstock has its advantages and disadvantages that must be weighed before making an investment decision.
