ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces a comprehensive historical literature review of various conventional and advanced control techniques that are used with DFIG, specifying the merits and shortages of each technique. Moreover, this chapter presents the motivations and objectives of the book and discusses the importance of renewable energy resources in generating electricity. Finally, the book outlines are introduced.
