ABSTRACT
This chapter gives a detailed literature review of the most commonly used control techniques for variable types of generators used in wind generation systems and provides a general layout of generators commonly used in wind energy conversion systems and the most adopted control techniques. Also, this chapter provides the advantages and disadvantages of each generator type, furthermore, clarifies the strength and deficiency of each strategy. This chapter will make the reader steady to understand the operating principles of control techniques which will be presented in the next chapters.
