ABSTRACT

The Meta-Artifact is the electronically linked set of all of the artifacts of development for all applications (systems) for a domain (see Figure 2.2). The linking is through hot links directly on the artifacts or a browser in the integrated modeling tools. Examples of artifacts are natural language narratives, graphical representations, or software code in various forms describing the desired and/or current systems. The electronic linking of all of the artifacts of development contributes to the Meta-Artifact’s representation of the total solution space. The Meta-Artifact is amplified by the enabling technologies and extensions (see Table 4.1 and Figure 2.1) and the Meta-Artifact’s recursive use in MAP for its own development (see recursive property in the Properties, Qualities, and Capabilities—Detailed Discussion section).
