ABSTRACT

This chapter details the stages and methods of game development, beginning with a definition of each stage, including ideation, preproduction, production, maintenance, and updates. Within these stages, the types of deliverables that will be expected are discussed, such as the project plan, prototype, alpha, beta, and gold milestones. Agile development and project planning are described in brief, including setting goals, priorities, sprints, scheduling, budgeting, scoping, revising, milestones, and approvals.
