ABSTRACT

There is an impetus to ensure that HIT is safe, effective, and useful when delivered to a multifaceted audience, given its essential role in our healthcare system today. UX research is required at all stages of the full system design lifecyle to ensure that HIT is being designed to meet user needs and is usable when implemented in a real-life context. Formative and summative UX research can take be conducted using many different qualitative and quantitative methods, and researchers are encouraged to design studies that aim to collect the type of data needed to answer their research questions.
