ABSTRACT

The main highlights presented in this chapter are listed in the six aspects as follows. (1) Equivalent motion equation of a class III fractional vibrator. (2) The terminologies in terms of quasiequivalent mass, quasiequivalent damping, quasiequivalent damping ratio, quasiequivalent damping free natural frequency, quasiequivalent damped natural frequency, quasiequivalent frequency ratio, quasiequivalent logarithmic decrement, and quasiequivalent Q factor for a fractional vibrator in class III. (3) The phenomenon that the quasiequivalent mass of a fractional vibrator in class III may vary from −∞ to ∞. (4) The quasiequivalent damping of a fractional vibrator in class III may vary from −∞ to ∞. (5) The conditions for a fractional vibrator in class III to be self-vibrated. (6) The analytical representations of free response, impulse response, step response, and frequency transfer function of a fractional vibrator in class III.
