Explanation of Rayleigh Damping Assumption Based on Fractional Vibrations

This chapter explains the contributions in four aspects: (1) Mathematical explanation of the standard Rayleigh damping form. (2) Mathematical explanation of a variation of the Rayleigh damping, which is proportional to mass only. (3) Mathematical explanation of another variation of the Rayleigh damping, which is just proportional to stiffness. (4) Mathematical explanation of one more variation of the Rayleigh damping.
