ABSTRACT

Figure 7.1 shows the physical arrangement of the two directional antennas, along with the setup for the measurement. The setup includes a digital signal generator (ADF435X EVAL BD) and an oscilloscope. The digital signal generator is used to generate the test signals, while the oscilloscope is used to capture the signals and analyze their phase and shape. The oscilloscope screen pictures demonstrate the lock loop oscillator control, which ensures accurate frequency synchronization, and provide visual representations of the measured signals’ phase and shape. These measurements help evaluate the performance and characteristics of the directional antennas and their overlap antenna patterns. This measurement technique allows for the assessment and analysis of the multi-beam staring antenna array’s behavior and performance, particularly in terms of the antenna patterns and their angular shifts.
