ABSTRACT

A smooth composite parametric curve https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> r → (u) https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781003490128/69240e33-a2d6-4ce9-b861-2eee453dbb35/content/math6_215_1_B.tif" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/> can be generated by passing a sequence of a data points (Pi, i = 0, 1, ...., n). Data points may be 2D or 3D as per requirements. Any of the curve models like Fergusson, Bezier and B-spline can be used infitting a curve with adjacent curve from a given sequence of data points. The choice of specific curve model depends on following factors:

Ease of implementation,

Computational efficiency,

Mathematical continuity,

Aesthetic smoothness,

Uniformness of flow rate.
