ABSTRACT

This is a new chapter for the Minor Illness Manual; its addition is probably unsurprising given events over recent years. We discuss the varied impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the potential implications for the future, including pandemic preparedness. We also cover clinical considerations when consulting someone with COVID-19, which, despite its recent lack of media coverage, still exists in circulation. The features of the illness continue to evolve; we set out when hospital assessment may be necessary, and some of the practicalities of testing and treatment in the UK.
