In Indian writings such as Vedic and Epics, we may find references to ecological thoughts and ‘Chakra’ nature worshiper described the importance of Vayu (gases and air), Jala (water), Desha (topography) and Kala (time) in regulation of plants life. The Greek philosophers and scientists like Hippocrates (father of medicine), Aristotle, Theophrastus and Reaumur described in their writings on natural history, the habits of animals and plants growing in different areas. C. Linnaeus (1707–1778) in his book “Natural History”, in 1756 made notable contributions to ecology.
