ABSTRACT

Lubricating pastes are cohesive lubricants made up of base oil (mineral and/ or synthetic oil), additives, and solid lubricant particles. They are predominantly designed to be applied under extreme conditions to prevent fretting corrosion, stick-slip and adhesive wear. Depending on their composition, lubricating pastes can be resistant to water and water vapor, with good anti-corrosion characteristics. Metal-containing pastes may be suitable for service temperatures up to 1200°C.
