ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we will see geometric operations in images. All the operations seen in previous chapters operate at the pixel level or as a filter and have in common that they alter the intensity value of the pixel in question, keeping the geometry of the image unchanged. By means of geometric operations, it is possible to distort the images; that is, the values of the pixels can change their position. Some examples of this type of operation are displacement, rotation, scaling, or distortion.
