This introductory chapter describes general issues and subjects in ophthalmology, including anatomy of the retina, glaucoma, pediatrics, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastic, uveitis, cornea, ocular anatomy, embryology, eye biochemistry, and pharmacology. It substantially covers the latest advances in molecular genetics related to ophthalmology.
