ABSTRACT
Most languages have an online archive from which people can download packages, each of which has a name, one or more versions, and a list of dependencies. In order to install a package, we need to figure out exactly what versions of its dependencies to install; this chapter explores how to find a workable installation or prove that there isn't one.
