ABSTRACT
In Chapter 3 we learned that the biological information contained in a gene is encoded in its nucleotide sequence, and that this information is utilized by the cell by the process called gene expression. The end product of gene expression is either a noncoding RNA or a protein that has a specifi c function in the cell. Through synthesis of these end products the genes are able to specify the biological characteristics of the organism.
