ABSTRACT
The three major types of RNA molecule that are produced by transcriptionmessenger, ribosomal, and transfer RNA-work together to synthesize proteins by the process called translation. The key feature of translation is that the sequence of amino acids in the protein being synthesized is specifi ed by the sequence of nucleotides in the mRNA molecule that is being translated (Figure 7.1).
