ABSTRACT
This section describes some of the important biological, physical, and pharmaceutical properties that are evaluated and refined during the lead optimization process. On the basis of target goals for each of these parameters, medicinal chemists employ a number of strategies during the iterative optimization process to eventually generate a clinical candidate.
