ABSTRACT
The bony pelvis comprises two hip (innominate) bones, the sacrum and the coccyx, which when articulated enclose the pelvic cavity. The hip bones articulate anteriorly with each other at the symphysis pubis and posteriorly with the sacrum at the sacroiliac joints.
