ABSTRACT

Chapter 7 presents the conclusions as well as future scope and directions for corrosion testing and protection. In the present book, an attempt has been made to present data on highly durable, self-healing and hydrophobic conducting copolymers based nano-composites and evaluation of such copolymers nano-composites for the use of corrosion protection of iron in a corrosive environment. Future work would be focused on the development of super-hydrophobic and smart coating of conducting copolymer nano-composites by incorporation of different inorganic nano-materials. It is planned to design conducting polymer-based coating having better adhesive and self-healing ability in highly aggressive conditions which can be used commercially for protection of metals from corrosion. Moreover, emphasis will also be focused on the development of eco-friendly and cost-effective green polymer-based coating.
