ABSTRACT

The Value Management Office (VMO) serves as a center of excellence for determining evidence-based outcome measurements. The VMO is designed to facilitate the creation of value-based care models and ultimately improve patient care. The office also supports information technology (IT) governance by evaluating business case investments and projected benefits to link people, processes, and technology. Organizational leaders and project managers encounter many issues that may cause them to be unsuccessful in delivering value to achieve desired organizational outcomes. The identification and measurement of key metrics can help improve and realign organizational resources to optimize value. The VMO is a business function, designed to oversee corporate governance, organizational change, quality, compliance, and process management. The Value Management Governing Board is established to advise the VMO and make key decisions that affect the organization. This body also reviews and approves the content proposed by the VMO and sponsors the adoption of the Value Management methodologies and tools.
