ABSTRACT

Information gathering is a continual process that prepares the organization to anticipate and analyze technology trends, and then embrace appropriate technologies at an appropriate time. Conceptualizing the applicability of emerging technologies allows the organization to understand and plan for the infrastructural changes that need to be made in order for the organization to survive in the future. It is equally important to identify, evaluate, and manage risks associated with these new technologies. Risk transfer strategies allow an organization to let someone else assume responsibility for risks associated with a particular activity. An effective risk management strategy will usually involve various levels of risk transfer. As the business environment continues to change and evolve with greater speed, it becomes critical for organizations to partner with industry experts that know the issues of the day, can anticipate future issues, and are better equipped to handle the risks associated with particular technologies.
