ABSTRACT

We have looked extensively at the properties of solutions to ordinary differential equations and at methods of obtaining analytic solutions. However the state of the art today is such that most differential equations can be solved easily by standard numerical techniques. The procedures are essentially different for initial value problems and boundary value problems, that is t where the boundary conditions are all specified at one point as opposed to conditions at two points. In both cases, there are techniques that can handle several coupled differential equationst and nonlinear systems are usually amenable to analysis.
