ABSTRACT
This purpose of this chapter is to provide a framework for the assimilation of physiological concepts as they apply to clinical practice. Hepatic physiology is a complex, detailed subject, and much of it is still imperfectly understood. The topics chosen for discussion therefore have a definite clinical bias.
