ABSTRACT
Sometimes, the Black Belt’s boss is knowledgeable and experienced in the skill sets identified in the critical success factors triangle shown in Figure B.1. In that case, external coaching and mentoring relationships may not be required. But, in the case where the Black Belt works for a person who lacks training and experience in project management, Lean Six Sigma, and change management, it is recommended that a person (or persons) inside or outside the organization be found to serve as a coach and mentor for the Black Belt.
