ABSTRACT
This chapter covers aspects of low carbon energy sources, such as low grade waste heat and solar power. It also covers thermal integration of membrane distillation to industrial processes to tap into low grade waste heat that would otherwise be discarded. Capturing solar energy in solar collectors is also discussed to power membrane distillation units in remote sites.
