ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the global supply chain and the various risks that float throughout its structure and how companies via an enterprise risk management approach can lead to better run companies and more successful supply chain management. Enterprise risk management expands the process to include not just risks associated with accidental losses, but also financial, strategic, operational, and other risks. In this book the focus is on the global supply chain. There are numerous global supply chain challenges in international business; some are generic and some are specific to particular business verticals and companies. Risks in the global supply chain are minimized as to their relevance and impact on overall business operations. Global Energies provided technology solutions for energy companies here and abroad. It was successful on bidding on an IT service to a Chinese government agency.
