This chapter continues the coverage of the clinical applications of heart mechanics by MRI that started in the previous chapter. The chapter focuses on heart mechanics in the right ventricle (RV) and atria; the effects of age and gender as well as major risk factors (hypertension [HTN], diabetes, and obesity) on cardiac function. The chapter also focuses on electrophysiological abnormalities, valvular heart disease, pulmonary hypertension (PH), pericardial disease, pediatrics and congenital heart disease (CHD), systemic and other diseases, as well as ow and other clinical applications of tagging.
