ABSTRACT

Preference ranking organization methods for enrichment evaluations (PROMETHEE) (Brans 1985) is a multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) method allowing the partial (PROMETHEE I) as well as the complete ranking (PROMETHEE II) of alternatives. Evaluation of environmentally conscious manufacturing and product recovery (ECMPRO) programs, third-party reverse logistic providers, green suppliers, and product recovery options are the main ECMPRO issues for which researchers have developed PROMETHEE-based MCDM methodologies. This chapter presents a PROMETHEE-based model that uses PROMETHEE to balance a disassembly line. The disassembly line balancing problem (DLBP) is an important and actively researched problem in ECMPRO. The analytical hierarchy process (AHP) can be used to determine the weights of the disassembly line balancing criteria. Avikal and team used PROMETHEE to balance a disassembly line. They integrated AHP and PROMETHEE to develop a disassembly line balancing methodology.
