ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a data envelopment analysis (DEA)-based model that focuses on the environmental evaluation of suppliers. There are several studies that use DEA for green supplier selection. The DEA-based green supplier selection methodology proposed by Kumar and team considered carbon footprints of suppliers as a necessary dual-role factor. Wen and Chi (2010) developed a green supplier selection methodology by integrating analytical hierarchy process (AHP), analytic network process (ANP), and DEA. Evaluation and selection of third-party reverse logistic (3PL) providers using DEA is another active research area. Saen (2009) developed a DEA based on 3PL provider selection methodology that considered quantitative and qualitative data. The 3PL provider selection methodology proposed by Saen used DEA by considering multiple dual factors. Saen (2011) and Azadi and Saen (2011) considered both multiple dual factors and stochastic data in their 3PL selection methodologies.
