ABSTRACT
The about 900 known Euglenophyta include unicellular flagellates and colonial forms, which are widely distributed in marine, brackish, and freshwater systems, soils, and mud (Graham et al. 2009). They are especially abundant in heterotrophic environments and one of the best-known groups of flagellates.
